M. Pauline "Polly" Hunter

M. Pauline "Polly" Hunter, of Van Wert died at 6:45 AM Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Vancrest Healthcare Center. She was born February 15, 1921, in Dixon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Orville E. and Edith A. (McDowell) Stephenson. On October 1, 1944, she married Ronald L. Hunter, who preceded her in death October 31, 2005.

She is survived by a Daughter: Sharon L. (Lynn) Baer of Van Wert- 2 Grandchildren: Melissa L. (Robert) Day, of Delaware, Ohio- Bradley L. Baer, of Van Wert- 2 Great-Grand-Children: Laurel & Alayna Day, both of Delaware, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a Sister, Dorothy Young and 2 Brothers, Floyd and Clark Stephenson.

Polly was a 1939 graduate of Tully-Convoy High School. She is a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Van Wert, and a Life Member of the Van Wert Chapter of the Women of the Moose where she was very active. She is also a Life Member of the American Legion Auxillary Post 178 Van Wert. Along with her husband Ron she had been an active participant in the YWCA Trips.

For several years Polly was employed by the former John Earl Department Store and after many years of service she retired from Laudick's Jewelry.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Monday, October 31, 2011, at Brickner Funeral Home with Pastor Will Haggis officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Brickner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery at Convoy, Ohio.

Preferred Memorials are Donations to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or to a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
