Donald Eugene "Big D" Cordell

73, of Van Wert, died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his residence.
He was born September 4, 1934, in Arist, W.Va., the son of the late Roy and Alta (Newberry) Cordell. He married F. Lynne Wilson, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Cordell was a retired truck driver and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Delbert (Denise) Cordell of Fort Wayne, Ind., and David (Stacie) Cordell of New Haven, Ind.; a daughter, Donna Sue Frye of Defiance; one brother, Curtis (Ramonda) Cordell of Itmon, W.Va.; a sister, Dorothy (Giles) Hammond of Princeton, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Roger and Junior Cordell, also preceded him in death.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
