Ruth Mary (Monnier) Miller

Ruth Mary Miller, 88, of VanCrest Nursing Home, Convoy, CHP Van Wert Inpatient Hospice, died at 2:50 AM Thursday. July 6, 2017.  She was born on October 31, 1928 in Adams County Indiana to Joseph and Amelia (Guenin) Monnier.  On July 26, 1947 she married Richard R. Miller, who passed away November 27, 1982.

She is survived by seven children: Dianna Collier of Waterloo, IN----Steven (Paula) Miller of Elida, OH---Donna (Dan) Louagie of Convoy, OH---Carolyn (Art) Nussbaum of Berne, IN---Tom (Tina) Miller of Van Wert, David (Bonnie) Miller of Hagerstown, IN---and Tony (Adrianna) Miller of Lexington, OH---36 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers, three sisters and a great granddaughter, Brooke Targgart.

She was a former member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Rockford, OH.  There she was a CCD teacher, President of the church council, Lectorer, and Eucharistic Minister.  She also volunteered at Colonial Nursing Home.  Later she became a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert where she sang in the funeral choir.

Viewing will be at Brickner Funeral Home on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM with a Rosary service following.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, July 10, 2017 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Stanley Szybka officiating. There will also be  viewing at the church 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, OH.

Preferred memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation, Nationwide Childrens Hospital, Columbus, OH, Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis, IN, or to the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic School in Van Wert.
