Marcy Price Obituary

Marcy Sue Price of the Wren area passed away on May 1, 2018 at 4:35 PM following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 9, 1952 in Paulding, Ohio, a daughter of the late Leo and Esther (Burris) Caryer of Wren, Ohio. On July 21, 1994 she married Richard K. Price Sr. EMT-P of Wren, Ohio who survives.

Surviving family members also include two sons, Matthew (Nikki) Swygart of Rockford: Christopher (Angie) Swygart of Lewistown, Ohio; five grandchildren; Brett, Sydney, Mollie, Samantha and Mason; Step-Children, Richard (Brandy) Price Jr. of Portland, Indiana, Robert (Jessie) Price of Greenville, Ohio, Jason Price of Burkettsville, Ohio, Josette (Mark) McCowan, Fort Wayne, Indiana; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Marcy is also survived by two sisters; Marilyn Neat of Convoy, Ohio and Peggy J. (Danny) Miller of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky along with nieces and nephews.

Marcy graduated in 1970 from Crestview High School in Convoy, Ohio. She attended Vantage Vocational School where she received a degree in Medical Office. She was employed at CTS Berne, Indiana for 34 years and has been self-employed as an embroiderer for the last several years.

Marcy was a faithful member of Countryside Church of the Nazarene in Willshire, Ohio where she served as director of Manna Ministries for its duration, then also as director of Son Ministries, plus serving in various other capacities dealing with secretarial duties. Marcy additionally assisted as judge for the Van Wert County election board, performed as assistant 4-H leader of the Wren Explorers for ten years and volunteered for the Wren Fire/EMS Dept. in assorted secretarial responsibilities.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, May, 4, 2018 at Brickner Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM Friday with Pastor Carol Tumbleson-Evans officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wren Fire/EMS Department.
